RUC programme
This study programme is part of an agreement between Renmin University of China (RUC) and Università degli Studi di Padova (UNIPD). The selected students of RUC will join UNIPD as exchange students for their final year of study at RUC in the field of Mathematics, thereby gaining eligibility to apply for the Mathematics Master’s degree programme at UNIPD.
All students joining this programme will be mentored by a personal tutor at UNIPD.
STUDY PROGRAMME
The programme will start in 2027. We will use the following credit conversion: 1 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) corresponds to 0.5 RC (Renmin Credit)
To obtain the Master’s Degree in Padova a student must collect at least 120 ECTS by taking: a maximum of 12 exams (between 80 and 86 ECTS); the master’s thesis (36 ECTS); a seminar/language course (4 ECTS). The mobility scheme and the number of courses for students joining the programme is the following
- Semester 1 at UniPD (4th year at RUC): 4 courses
- Semester 2 at RUC: from 2 to 5 courses
- Semester 3 and 4 at UniPD: from 2 to 6 courses, the final thesis, the extra activity seminar/language
All courses that appear in the first year of the learning agreement cannot be used by the student to complete its bachelor programme at RUC. According to this mobility plan, successful completion of the 2 years of the programme will grant a Master’s degree at UNIPD.
The study plan must respect the following rules present in the official documentation and take in account that between 2 to 5 courses should be taken at RUC during the second semester of their 4th year of bachelor.
We give 3 examples of possible study plan, but many other configurations are possible upon approval from the academic coordinator.
Example 1: focus in Algebra and Geometry

The student can take between 2 and 5 courses (as extra credits, between 12 and 30 ECTS) among those available at RUC in the spring semester (from the 3rd year on). We recommend two courses in mathematical analysis.

- Introduction to Stochastic processes (8)
