The Bachelor of Science in Mathematics aims to provide a sound preparation in the mathematical disciplines, offering students the opportunity to become acquainted with their modern formulation and to become familiar with various aspects of the subject, general, methodological and applied. To do this, the degree course is divided into several curricula. In each area, the training always tends to emphasize methodological aspects, in order to avoid obsolescence of the acquired skills. Knowledge of subjects in the mathematical area is complemented by preparation in the fields of physics and computer science.
The first two years of the Degree Course in Mathematics consist almost exclusively of compulsory courses, which provide the basic knowledge and skills to tackle the third year, in which the student opts for the theoretical, didactic or application path.
Students enrolling in the first year of the Degree Course in Mathematics can apply for admission to the Natural Sciences Class of the Scuola Galileiana di Studi Superiori.
Scholarships reserved for students enrolling in degree courses in Mathematics at Italian universities are provided every year by the Istituto Nazionale di Alta Matematica (INdAM)
